How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
I think the combination of the ancillary tasks and main
products is effective as they each have elements of the same theme running
through them. Each of my products has the same font used for the film title and
dark setting to help portray the tense mood. The screen time given to the male characters helps
create the dominant ideology – with their intellect, about the phone and their professionalism
shown with their outfits. The screen time and images used also helps with the
representation of males making the plot and genre of the story stronger which
is effective in helping the audience understand the film. This is shown through
mise en scene, the costumes – the suits, help to create a feeling of importance
and significance , the props – the phone, are effective in making the gender of
the film obvious, as the phone is seen as more masculine which is shown in both
trailer and the silhouette of the photo used.

Alteration of Poster
After looking through all my posts I realised that i had not put a classification certificate on my poster to inform the audience of the age rating of it therfore I added it in.
How our film would relate to a narrative structure.
Narrative is the different factors in a story which brings
order and structure in a linear and sequential way from beginning to the end.
Often stories follow the same structure or have similar characteristics. I think
that our film would have a narrative structure that was open ended, in which
the audience are always left to surmise what will happen next and leave it up
to their own suggestions and ideas. This also links with the narrative of
enigma and the audience are left to solve a puzzle, for example, who is the
person that is behind the phone and controlling it and it is it actually the
phone that is causing him to disappear. Characters also have functions, such as
being a hero or a villain. For example in our film, the main character that
gets teleported would play a heroic role whereas whoever controls the phone, or
who it belongs to would take the role of the villain this creates tension and
expectation. Soundtrack is also vital in supporting narrative, in our film it
allows the build-up of speed to happen, chase scenes are often percussive, rhythmic
and up tempo then end when the climax is met, this is shown in our trailer,
when the main character is teleported then the phone line goes dead and there
is a long tone to show this.
